“This body of work, Rivers and Waterways, shows my love for calming landscapes of beloved places along peaceful rivers and waterways large and small. As I travel through my life, I continue my romance with these natural settings. Many of these scenes are along the Tar River which flows through nearby Battle Park and on to the Coast. Yet my travels have taken me to the Seine River in Paris, to the spot where Washington crossed the Delaware River in New Hope, PA, to Taylor’s Creek in Beaufort, along the Edisto River and Murrell’s Inlet in SC, and into my own back yard on Goose Creek Lake in Rocky Mount, NC. Waterways have become an important theme in my art.
